Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 85 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn emphasize its convenient location near public transit, Prospect Park, and local shops. Apartments are described as spacious with high ceilings, and the building offers laundry and multiple elevators. However, tenants report persistent maintenance issues including leaks, pest infestations (rats and roaches), and faulty heating and water systems. Management is frequently criticized for poor responsiveness and inadequate upkeep, leading to tenant frustration. Common concerns include noise, security problems like package theft and loitering, and elevator malfunctions. Despite rent stabilization benefits and a friendly neighborhood feel, many renters advise against moving here due to ongoing building and management challenges.

7 years of Hell
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to the train
Cons:
Since I’ve live here I have an 7 -10 water leak destroy the ceiling in the kitchen, and bathroom and mold. I have lost food and some appliances no reimbursement. The door to the building is broken every six months. I’ve had so many packages stolen. The radiator in the winter makes so much noise it's loud sound that startles and wakes me up in the middle of the night .The hot water world sometimes I’ve to run the water for 45 min to an hour which results in me getting dress at the gym, so I can make it on time to work. Sometime there random people hanging in the lobby. It’s a rent stabilized building but should be free!
Advice to owner:
Have some integrity! Stop being so greedy. That’s what wrong with the world today. And hire people with class and the ability to communicate.
