Odd space, terrible management

The size of the unit
Cons:
Management take at least two prompts to respond to anything and will then take two weeks to respond. Many, many issues re maintenance and pest control. And often sending awful repair people without consulting with the renters about what a good time is to come. Must use optimum wifi which is very weak because the building needs to be rewired, which is down to the management and optimum, not any of the occupants. Mildewed carpeted, broken steps from the lobby upwards. Roaches and bugs constantly present, probably due to the uncleanliness of the outside of the Apt. The basement with the washer/dryer stinks and is a mess of plaster, paint and bugs like you have never seen. Fire escape is rusted and broken. Very absent management. Constant notices being mailed/posted about violations.
Advice to owner:
Do better, you aren’t even doing the bare minimum.

Definitely a FIRST apartment

Pros:
The rent was cheap and the neighbors were wonderful:)
Cons:
Electrical issues, bugs, and apathy of the landlord company. We had electrical issues for over 2 months (everything in apartment surged, we lost power often, had to call the fire dept one night out of fear after smoke came out of smoke detector) and it took the landlord company a LONG time to come fix the bad wiring. We also constantly had no hot water and there were cockroaches everywhere. The landlord company seemed like they were never available when we called. The apartment is also super far from Manhattan (about 45 mins to an hour via subway) and the subway trains were never reliable in Flatbush. Radiators in the apartment popped the wood floors CONSTANTLY in the winter to the point where we could not sleep and the owners never fixed it.
Advice to owner:
Have someone on call for tenants to contact when they need immediate help.
