Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 536 Mcdonald Avenue paint a mixed picture. Some tenants highlight affordable rent and a quiet, family-friendly atmosphere in a private building, with nearby dining options and decent transport links. However, many express serious concerns about safety, cleanliness, pest control, and maintenance issues, such as faulty electrical outlets and poor heating. Noise disturbances, especially from unauthorized gatherings, and a generally rundown neighborhood environment with homeless and drug activity are repeatedly mentioned. Owner responsiveness often disappoints, and the building faces several city violations. Prospective renters should weigh affordability against these significant drawbacks before deciding.

Absolute WORST Building in NYC - Worse than NYCHA
Former Tenant
Pros:
Absolutely nothing. Nothing to like at all
Cons:
Every single tenant is unemployed. Snooping on everyone's business. Slamming doors and making unnecessary noises like it's a living. And check out all the violations that the city has penalized them for this year. I am SO glad I left before situations got worse. Don't get me started on what the neighboring buildings have been saying about them

Rotting, Underdeveloped Area
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheaper than the city - only reason to be in this area
Cons:
You ever been to times square? Flushing? This is Times Square #2 for no reason. Everyone must be unemployed and constantly on the streets. One of the biggest reasons I fled this area
