Fine Starter Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Living here puts you in close proximity to 3 grocery stores, pharmacies, there’s a laundromat across the street, and the N Train is also right across the street. If there’s a minor *solvable* issue, the company is pretty on top of it. Relaxed pet policies. I’ve never had a problem with heat or water excluding the heating system being on an off-site timer system. The front door now has a call box which used to be an issue.
Cons:
Really shitty management company. Examples? It took us three months to get our electric stove working because our electric lines are MESSED up. Their excuse was we were “flipping the breaker” (not in our unit BTW) because we plugged in an air fryer. What actually was happening is unknown to us, but it wasn’t solved until sparks and hissing noises began happening around our oven’s outlet. Another problem is noise. We have a family of 5 living in a one bedroom above us who are SO loud and the landlord will do nothing about it. Pieces of plaster from the ceiling have fallen down. The water is sometimes cold and doesn’t warm up for like ten minutes. The excuse is that people are “on vacation so it takes time for the water to heat up”. Multiple people living in apartments downstairs. Illegal duplex conversions. Trash everywhere. The super pretty much co-ops the building as his and his family’s. The fire access alleyway is filled with useless cars that don’t run. Security cameras don’t work. We’ve been locked in the building because the lock on the front door won’t work. Super is inattentive to drunk people who sleep in our lobby sometimes overnight. Super’s sons smoke in the building and lobby. The windows in our apartment leak water when it rains. So badly actually that there are water stains on my ceiling.
Advice to owner:
I have none, this place is doomed to fail.

This is subpar place
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, near subway stop, Rite aid and near major grocery stores
Cons:
Building is old and do not have enough outlet. Management is not much responsive and super is worst. Super never does any work and usually seems drunk all of the time. Also, he is racist
Advice to owner:
Please provide proper renovated units, hire a new super. Location is great, just require better management

Rent elsewhere if possible
Former Tenant
Pros:
Certain tenants have been here forever and are friendly. Close to laundromat, delis. Rite aid and small supermarket
Cons:
Super is horrible, does not fix your problems in timely manner. Heat only comes on when super thinks it cold. They do not clean the stairs or building. (Maybe only in the summer time and its not even done by the super) People smoke weed/cigarette and it penentrates into your own home. Bed Bugs everywhere!!!
Advice to owner:
Figure it out, hire a new super who can handle this job, and doesn't have a job of his own.

Bedbugs, be careful
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to subway
Cons:
Bedbugs, stealing packages, cameras not working

Don’t live in here if you want to sleep at night.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, lots of grocery stores nearby, safe neighborhood. It’s a Beautiful old apartment. There’s also a park nearby. Not to mention how close the train station is.
Cons:
The rooms that face the fort Hamilton parkway are way too noisy. I couldn’t sleep many nights simply because car, motorcycle, and truck noise. And I’m not even sensitive...
Advice to owner:
Invest in the building so people can sleep at night. This building needs noise insulation.
