Large apartment , old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are very large.
Cons:
Pipes leaked on a regular basic.

Negligent building manager
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful loft structures, high ceilings, cleanups to the buildings are being made
Cons:
Landlord completely ignored a bathtub that needed to be reglazed, their "temporary" (3 month+) solution until it being fixed led to mold. Took 3 weeks to schedule an exterminator when missing the once a month visit
Advice to owner:
Fix things faster

Decent short term. Long term issues.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment units are spacious. Building is fairly quiet.
Cons:
Dark, very few windows. Super is assigned to several buildings owned by the same company and is always over stressed and over committed so you can wait months to get simple issues addressed.
Advice to owner:
Hire more maintenance help to address issues in a timely manner.

Slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s not the street.
Cons:
The building is a chronic MESS. From broken locks and doors, lighting (interior/exterior) frequently out for extended periods of time, mailboxes constantly broken, mail constantly stolen, garbage and recycling managment is a DISASTER, cockroaches in common areas, mold, to a roof that constantly leaks like a sieve. The common areas or individual apartments have never been painted. Managment is TOTALLY negligent and NEVER responds promptly or makes appropriate/responsible repairs. Slow, cheap and negligent. The nearby NYCHA projects are managed better.
Advice to owner:
PLEASE sell the building to someone who will manage it responsibly!
