Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 545 Prospect Place highlight several strengths appealing to renters, including a prime Brooklyn location near multiple transit lines, rent stabilization in many units, and a strong sense of community with friendly neighbors. Cleanliness and pest control are generally well maintained, supported by responsive building staff and live-in supers, which contribute to a secure and orderly environment. However, issues persist with heating systems that lack individual control, occasional water leaks during heavy rains, and a chaotic mail/package management system prone to thefts. Noise levels tend to be low inside, but outdoor street activity and odors have been noted. Overall, it’s considered an affordable, community-oriented building with room for infrastructural improvements.

Overall decent place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized Unusual layouts, every unit is different Friendly building staff Good community of neighbors
Cons:
Serially connected heat. If you get a crazy hot apartment, you can't adjust the baseboards because your neighbors will lose their heat. Management/staff can be slow to respond, unequal in how they treat tenants Building is old and a little crusty, air quality issues
