Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renter feedback for 205 N 9 St in Brooklyn underscores its prime location near the L train, spacious layouts, and appealing amenities including a gym, rooftop, and friendly doorman staff. Tenants praise the well-maintained cleanliness, responsive management, and pleasant neighbors. However, recurring issues include inefficient and noisy HVAC systems causing high utility costs, ongoing laundry room malfunctions, elevator downtime, and occasional noise from thin floors. Some renters express concern over management responsiveness and extra fees, while others appreciate the building’s overall atmosphere. Despite some drawbacks, the building remains a popular choice for those valuing convenience, community, and lifestyle amenities in a vibrant neighborhood.

Amazing location & layouts... but with some frustrating problems
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Incredible location near L train (~2 blocks) - Some great amenities (gym in building, rooftop) - Great layouts (in a very spacious 1 bedroom) - Quiet (at least on courtyard facing units)
Cons:
- In-building laundry is never functioning and has added a huge stress to day-to-day life (half of machines are out of order usually, and the ones that are "working" barely dry clothing) - Climate control is unbearable and exorbitantly expensive since the units are so inefficient. In-wall HVACs are noisy and barely cool / warm the apartment. Bills for a 1-bed can be up to $350 a month. - One of the elevators has been broken / offline for over 1.5 years, causing delays trying to get downstairs if you're on a higher floor.

We’ll run building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice amenities, generally well run, unbearable location, relatively responsive for fixes.
Cons:
1 of the 3 elevators has been out for 6 months. Since new ownership attention to detail is down a little bit.
