Living here is like camping
Former Tenant
Pros:
The units are really unique and beautifully designed. All neighbors are incredibly kind and friendly. Appliances are mostly new and well designed. Location is great. Super is sweet and responsive.
Cons:
The landlord is almost completely unresponsive to tenants' concerns. We have a major issue with the HVAC unit in our apartment that has been unresolved for at least 8 weeks, leaving us without AC or heat. Every single call to the management company has gone unanswered.
Advice to owner:
Call your tenants back! When we say the apartment is uninhabitable, take that seriously and fix the problem.

Refused to fix HVAC system
Former Tenant
Pros:
The units are relatively modern (just over ten years old) and the floors are easy to clean.
Cons:
We flagged that our HVAC system broke two months ago and the management company refused to take any steps to fix it.
Advice to owner:
Fix things in the unit.

Do Not Rent Here!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location and nice to have a duplex 1br with private outdoor space
Cons:
-The entire unit was heated / cooled by two small in wall units that took Ages to heat it cool the large space. And if you left them on / on auto while outside, the electric bill was ridiculously high -my unit had a persistent leak directly above the bed that was never fixed. I found out that the previous tenant in my unit moved out bc they never fixed it over a year of him asking. They simply plastered over it before I moved in and pretended it was a new issue when the first rain flooded my bedroom. After a year of trying to get them to fix it - which they never did - I moved out early. They simply plastered over it and the next tenant had the same issue. This was a major leak. Every time it rained or snow melted, water would flood the bed and bedroom. The whole unit became moldy. DO NOT RENT HERE!
Advice to owner:
Fix the issues. I considered legal action.

Great place to live with minor issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
- the super works hard, is a constant friendly presence, and a great neighbor (his holiday parties are legendary) - well maintained and clean building - comfortable units - no issues with pests at all - fantastic location - modern and unique layout and aesthetic - some amenities (parking garage, washer/dryer in unit, small outdoor space) - we would have stayed forever, but needed more space
Cons:
- units are fairly small - the elevated shuttle train is very close so you hear it rumble by every 15-30 minutes. It’s not incredibly loud, and it starts to blend in to where you don’t notice it, but it is a constant presence - walls can be thin so you can hear your neighbors quite easily. Especially with the layout (duplex with bedroom on bottom). If a neighbor comes home late their slamming door and high heels sound like they are right next to your head. - dog friendly building, so you hear barking all the time.
Advice to owner:
Send a notice to neighbors requesting the shut their doors quietly and stop letting them slam shut
