Almost died due to their negligence
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s a fairly big apartment, but I wouldn’t even call that a pro given all the issues.
Cons:
Where to start.. - we experienced a massive flood because they sent an unlicensed friend (with no plumbing experience) to come fix plumbing in the apartment above ours. - Nat Grid found that the water tank and gas tank were labeled incorrectly so when the unlicensed handyman tried shutting off the water (during the flood) they almost shut off the gas creating a gas bomb. - major, persistent mouse and rat issue due to the fact that they didn’t put drywall behind the microwave when installing new ones - the building management team was rude and unhelpful
Advice to owner:
Fire your management company. Start fresh

Lived there for 2 years, finally got out.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great but that’s about it. Nice giant kitchen if you can stomach the roaches and mice.
Cons:
As the other review has noted it was in my apartment that the attempted fix took place that flooded our entire building. Over the two years I lived there we had a constant roach and mouse problem that management refused to address properly and kept trying to go with Band-Aid fixes. We had exterminators come probably a half a dozen times or more just in the last year to no avail. Each maintenance worker they sent was shoddy and never truly fixed the issues. I work in home maintenance and ended up having to take it upon myself to fix most issues in the home. They switched managers about a year ago and it went even further downhill from there. The new manager (mark) is a 20 year old kid who’s obtrusive and will show up on announced constantly and will always doubt there are real issues. There has been a roof leak In our bathroom since I moved in and two weeks before we moved out all the snow melting caused a leak so bad that it seeped through all the way down to first floor and filled probably three or more 5 gallon buckets. After our apartment was flooded and I turned off the electric to the whole building Mark was telling his friend the “repair guy” To just turn everything back on. I told him it was a fire hazard and I won’t let him until an electrician comes. When the electrician arrived we turned the electric back on and smoke started filling the entryway so we had to shut off the electric and let everything dry out for two hours. If we had listened to Mark’s urging there no doubt would’ve been a fire. Because we turned the gas off National grid require a plumber to check the lines before he turned on. Management stalled for TEN DAYS to get the gas turned back on. So we were without heat or hot water for 10 days and were forced to either stay elsewhere or buy space heaters. Couple of my roommates purchased space heaters at the advice of management. And as a result our electric bill ended up being four times what it usually is that month and management refused to reimburse us for the increased energy cost. There are so many other things I could go on and on but I’ll conclude with the price. What they are charging for this place is astronomical compared to similar places in the area ($3700). It’s your typical New York apartment that gets away with obscene rent prices because they claim a “four bedroom” apt. Don’t be fooled. It’s a two bedroom that was sloppily halved and has major unaddressed maintenence issues throughout. Two of my roommates were chefs so the pandemic hit very hard and we were struggling to make rent. We gave up our two security deposits to cover two months rent and refuse to pay the last months because I ended up paying nearly $900 out of pocket for an emergency plumber and electrician to fix the catastrophic issues of the flooding. we had to stay elsewhere on our own dollar and two other units were given a 1/3 months reduction because of the issues but we were only offered reimbursement for “eight” days that we didn’t have heat or water (it was 10 trust me) we are still currently in legal battles fighting this issue. We communicated very clearly that we intended to pay and we needed some kind of assistance or payment plan because of the financial strain of losing work. They just referred us to an housing aid agency that was massively backed up. Management said they would go ahead and start legal proceedings against us because it would help us get to the front of the line. In my time there a previous tenant stopped by to see their old place they were surprised to find what was their living room was turned into two bedrooms and what was their master bedroom had a wall down the middle. It worked for me while I was there because moving is a task in New York City with 3 other people it was somewhat affordable. But i felt pretty defeated and didn’t have the means to get out. Now that I’m out I urge anyone who is considering this place to reconsider. It will look modern updated and fairly nice but it’s just a façade. Barring any major management changes this place is one to stay far away from.
Advice to owner:
Get rid of mark asap and change management altogether. This place needs an overhaul. Send proper licensed workers to address the major structural issues of the roof leak and all of the water damage. Charge a reasonable rate. Stop trying to cut corners.
