Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for 31 Debevoise Street praise its modern design, large windows with city views, and amenities like a gym, laundry, and rooftop access. The building is generally clean and offers good water pressure and heating, with many tenants appreciating the responsiveness of on-site staff. However, significant concerns include extremely high electric bills attributed to poor window sealing and insulation, frequent elevator breakdowns, and package theft due to minimal on-site security. Neighborhood safety and cleanliness are questioned by some renters. Management responsiveness is inconsistent, with several reports of slow repairs and communication issues, detracting from tenant satisfaction.

Expensive but pretty
Former Tenant
Pros:
Floor-to-ceiling windows on the corner of the building meant we literally saw the sunrise from our rooms and the sunset over Manhattan from our kitchen/living room. The bathroom was really nice, and the appliances were great. We also had several issues with the dishwasher, and they were able to come on multiple occasions and eventually fix it. Also, the central AC works very well.
Cons:
I have no clue how they calculated the electric bill, but it was INSANE. In the spring and fall, god forbid we didn't require the AC to be on, the bill would be $300. And it only went up from there... All the lights are LED, so idk how the bill was that high... but with these massive windows, it felt like we were in a greenhouse. It is crazy coming home in the WINTER to the apartment thermostat saying 85º, not to mention the summer. We needed the AC on at all times just to keep the cats safe, even when we weren't home. Also, when we moved in, they gave us the wrong keys, so we were in the building but locked out of our apartment until like 3am.
Advice to owner:
Figure out why your electric bills are so high. Even without the AC being on, it was still around $300 per month.
