Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
The building at 25 East 19 Street, Brooklyn offers spacious apartments, a good gym, and a dedicated, caring superintendent highly praised by residents. However, tenants frequently report severe management issues, including unresponsiveness, poor service, and rude leasing staff. The building faces recurring problems such as ineffective heating/AC units, inadequate pest control, package theft, and security concerns that remain largely unaddressed by management. While the property itself is well maintained and quiet with friendly neighbors, renters warn about ongoing maintenance neglect and safety risks, making it a less favorable choice despite attractive amenities and location.

Horrible Property Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is great and takes pride in the building
Cons:
Don’t be fooled by the gym & lobby! Take these reviews seriously and spend your hard earned $ elsewhere. The 1 star management reviews are absolutely true. Poor service. Finicky appliances. Shoddy repairs. Shine Corp is the property management company, and the staff is extremely rude especially Shuey and Rachel in Leasing. You will receive curt and incomplete responses from Shine. They are disrespectful to their tenants (no exceptions- they will be difficult with you if you move in). Outdated HVAC units that take up space and make it difficult to sufficiently heat/cool unit. Upper floors are suffocatingly hot during the summer. W/D barely work. Dryer has to be run multiple times and the repairman barely brings tools to fix it. Ant infestation. Look elsewhere!!!
Advice to owner:
Terrible service. Teach Rachel better service. Shame on you Shine, especially as people of faith. God does not like Ugly.

Great Building Upkeep
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building was well kept and we generally had no problems.
Cons:
Leasing company tries to keep your deposit at the end of the lease and they tried to charge us for nonexistent damages.
