Small units and noisy trains, but pretty nice place otherwise
Pros
Honestly pretty comfortable overall for us. - Very clean, new appliances (including laundry in the basement and the gym) and well maintained - Maintenance is really on top of it IMO. Whenever we put in a request, they've come as fast as within the hour to fix, the longest it's taken was 2 days for a more complicated fix. - AC units are nice (love not having window ACs, I prefer these wall units as they're quieter) - Amenities are pretty nice. Gym is a bit small and doesn't have a ton of machines, but it's clean and new. Rooftop is also quite nice to use, they have comfy chairs set up and grills you can use.
Cons
- Train noise. We're lucky because our apartment is in the back part of the building so it's way quieter for us than the units in front, but the LIRR train (and honking) and the 7 train squeaking can be REALLY loud towards those front units, and it's still definitely noticeable. - Our unit was sold as a 2 bedroom, but the second bedroom was very clearly part of the living room with just a flex wall added. So our living room is VERY cramped and small, also doesn't have AC as the AC is only in the second bedroom - and there are some lights for the kitchen that are controlled from inside the second bedroom which can be a bit odd. - Lack of kitchen ventilation - Not a huge deal but the shower water pressure is kind of weak - The doors to each unit have essentially no soundproofing. If you're in the hallway, you can hear everything from inside the living rooms of each unit, and vice versa.
