Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for 52-03 Center Boulevard emphasize the building's exceptional cleanliness, responsive and professional staff, and strong management. Tenants appreciate the quiet, safe environment, beautiful waterfront views, and well-maintained apartments with good water pressure and pest control. The doormen and maintenance teams are often praised for their friendliness and efficiency. However, some renters note the building's distance from the subway, limited in-building amenities, occasional elevator delays, and management's strict package policies. Noise from nearby restaurants and neighbors varies. Overall, this building is favored for its location, well-kept interiors, and supportive staff, making it a desirable option despite some minor drawbacks.

Great Neighborhood Vibes

Pros

The building is clean, highly responsive, and the overall neighborhood vibe is great. It's a 50-story building and there are many tenants. I rarely have a negative interaction with anyone.

Cons

The management company is borderline difficult - very rigid about package pickups (no one but lease holders allowed), apartment access (they won't send anyone up unless you're home or they're specifically registered). I've had some trouble getting groceries delivered or my dog dropped off from daycare when I'm not home. Amenity spaces close around 10pm.

Did they reslove the issue with the heat/cooling system?

Answer

How much are the amenities, and is there a way to avoid the large deposit when renting? Is the noise in the lower levels acceptable? Are people nice? Thanks for any advice

$50 per person for “amenities” which honestly dont offer much. deposit is one months rent noise levels typical for a giant nyc high rise towards the quieter side.

In the summer months, the waterfront is pretty busy and so you may hear some late-night party noise and motorcycles but it's not too bad; better than many other locations in the city. Soundproofing between units is ok but if you get stuck next to an inconsiderate neighbor, there's not much the building management can/will do. I found the building staff ok - not particularly friendly or professional or helpful but more minor frustrations than anything major. I found the people living in the building to be a mixed bag - many were inconsiderate (having their dogs offleash running around the lobby; leaving trash in the hall; smoking directly in front of the doors, etc.) but that's been true of a lot of rentals I've lived in.
