WORSE THAN YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE!
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is nothing good, not even one.
Cons:
Heat -- The heating system of the building is very old. This building was built in the 1960s and it is very evident that their was no heating system upgrade. As winter comes and you need heat, you'll get an odor with the vented air from the radiators. It's a steam with an overpowering musty odor. Absolutely dreadful.

Pests-- They have free pest control service, but it's every two weeks. No matter what you do, no matter if your cleanliness is spot-on, roaches will always come back to your apartment. The compactors are absolutely disgusting, it's a trash bonanza with a constant repulsive odor. The building garbage disposal area is dirty, it smells through the lobby. The management and neighbors alike lack organizing and hygiene.

Cleanliness-Cleanliness? What cleanliness? From the lobby to each and every hallway on every floor it smells like trash. One whiff of the compactor and you will want to vomit. It's a melange of pests, garbage juices , and mold making an odor that is despicable more than you can ever imagine. The elevator air ducts are full of accumulated heavy dirt. People throw their garbage in the elevators as well.

Neighbors--Everyday, there is a very strong curry smell in the hallway, no matter what floor you live in. Sometimes your neighbors cook food and open their doors to let the bad odor out and it seeps through your apartment. This place is full of potheads smoking marijuana, you'll have to close your windows all the time, because the smell exudes quickly, it's absolutely repulsive. The elevator smells like marijuana, people smell like marijuana, the hallways smell like marijuana. Not an ideal place for families!

Safety--There is no camera in the mailroom. My packages were stolen more than 3x and the building does nothing about it. I've confronted them about this issue and they promised to put a camera, but like any other incompetent management company, they do nothing. There was also a fire in this building when someone threw a piece of cigarette in the compactor and they had no way to identify who did it. No cameras, and the few cameras they had looks unreliable that I doubt it's still working. Good luck if you're living on the 7th floor! water will be leaking from your ceiling whenever it rains!

Noise levels--You have barbaric people with domestic disputes shouting at each other in the middle of the night. You will have neighbors who will party like they rented the whole building with how loud they are. Additionally, your neighbors love to slam whatever stuff they have in their apartments with no regards to their neighbors, anytime and all the time.

Laundry--The washing machines here are absolutely disgusting. All kind of gunk, hair, and residue are stuck in the rubber parts of the machine. The hot and warm water setting of the washers do not work. The dispensers where you put your washing solutions are full of gunk and it does not drain the contents all the way. Good luck if you're washing and the person who used the machine before you used bleach. Now it's time for the dryer! No one cleans after their own lint. Even if the lint dispenser is empty, the dryers are are so bad that lint just circulates inside the dryer. Hooray!

Management--Building used to have a simple application process. Now they add renters insurance, move in fees, and bunch of other fees that will set you at least another $1000, and it can be more! Management does nothing with complaints! The super here unfortunately is lazy.

Don't rent here. Don't buy here. Don't move here. Don't even walk outside here. Please live on the other side of Queens boulevard. That part of Elmhurst is cleaner and safer. Will be moving back there soon!
