Review Summary for Carlyle Construction Corp
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for Carlyle Construction Corp buildings reveal a consistent appreciation for friendly, helpful doormen and building staff, contributing to a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The apartments are noted for spacious layouts and convenient amenities such as gyms and laundry facilities. However, management responsiveness receives mixed feedback: while some maintenance requests are addressed in a timely manner, larger issues—like pest control, mold, and air conditioning—often face delays or inadequate resolution. Cleanliness and garbage management vary across properties, with some buildings needing upgrades in common areas. Rent increases are viewed as steep but reflective of the market. Prospective renters should manage expectations for maintenance responsiveness and occasional noise concerns.

Great Doormen, Large Apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
Doormen are great, building is nice and the apartments are massive
Cons:
They’re slow to respond to maintenance requests, have had issues with showers being clogged multiple times
Advice to owner:
Stay on top of maintenance

Overall good apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Right off the F/M/Q, overall kind neighbors, spaces vary greatly depending on the unit. I have a huge walk in closet and nice view, so I can’t complain.
Cons:
The front desk is nosy, the basement is disgusting and greatly in need of renovation. The carpets and elevators need repair.

Decent option in a great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Affordable building in an amazing part of the UES. Building staff is very kind and willing to help with whatever you need. Neighbors are typically pretty quiet and respectful.
Cons:
Building management is not responsive unless it’s something that could cause them an issue. We’ve been dealing with mold in our bathroom forever that’s taking them forever to fix. We also deal with some pests (silverfish). Overall, I don’t think management does a great job of maintaining the building or taking care of the staff (doormen, maintenance, etc.) - even though that staff is absolutely incredible.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing doormen, gym and laundry in building, rooftop for the sunny seasons.

Building manager is super tough to get a hold of. Few maintenance requests, but for larger asks, it may take longer than anticipated to resolve.

Quiet Murray Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
In a quiet area in midtown. Close to grand central. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons:
Building used to be an old hotel so some appliances and fixtures are dated.

Great team and nice location - 3 years here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very close access to a lot of subway stations, front desk is great, maintenance gets to you pretty fast (usually within a day), don’t really hear neighbors and felt very comfortable living here
Cons:
Building is older so elevator breaks down sometimes but there’s more than one, wood floors and appliances are a little old, great team and time living here so no major complaints!
