Homeowner is an Investor
Former Tenant
Pros:
Has a South/North exposure
Pleasant views
Historic Building
Cons:
Mice infestation during building renovation
Water bugs crawling into apartment from underneath the walls. This was on hot, humid days.
Apartment walls are not insulated therefore people could hear me talking on the phone and my private conversations.
Owner and owner's son were intrusive.
Advice to owner:
You should abide by the law when a tenant moves out, and do a walk-through of the apartment with the tenant present. Then notify the tenant in writing of any corrections that need to be made. You should not grab the tenant's deposit and claim they caused damage without proof and without following the legal protocol.
