Advice to owner:
INSTALL SECURITY GATE AT ENTRY TO STOOP WHICH IS HIDDEN FROM STREET. TENANTS ARE INTIMIDATED BY HOMELESS MAN WHO HAS HIT AND SPAT IN THEIR FACES WHEN THEY ENTER OR LEAFE THE BLBD.

Marketed as a 2 bedroom (c) openigloo when it’s a legal one (c) openigloo bedroom, rooftop next to bedroom (c) openigloo with window throws loud parties (c) openigloo every weekend, displaced people on (c) openigloo the stoop 24/7 (not an (c) openigloo exaggeration), drug use and bodily (c) openigloo fluids consistently found on stoop, (c) openigloo completely unresponsive management (have never (c) openigloo been able to reach anyone (c) openigloo via phone besides the super), (c) openigloo old water boiler that provides (c) openigloo low water pressure and extremely (c) openigloo loud radiator, multiples bugs and (c) openigloo roaches found in apartment on (c) openigloo daily basis, bedrooms do not (c) openigloo come with closets, no natural (c) openigloo light in apartment minus the (c) openigloo bedroom, packages consistently stolen, from (c) openigloo door lock broke several (c) openigloo times in one year .

Our neighbors had their son (c) openigloo constantly banging on the door (c) openigloo at night. Other neighbors played (c) openigloo loud music at night. At (c) openigloo the end of the lease (c) openigloo we had mice in the (c) openigloo apartment. Super was difficult to (c) openigloo get along with.
Good building. Horrible management.

1. Trash is right next (c) openigloo to stairwell and door never (c) openigloo closes with many people entering (c) openigloo through the trash door to (c) openigloo go to their apartments. Because (c) openigloo of this rats get into (c) openigloo the main corridor. Literally had (c) openigloo a baby rat blocking the (c) openigloo exit to the main entrance (c) openigloo because it got in through (c) openigloo the trash door. 2. The (c) openigloo Front Door does not lock. (c) openigloo Just push it open- its (c) openigloo not like Broadway is a (c) openigloo highway for pedestrians.... Have had (c) openigloo homeless and druggies enter the (c) openigloo building and roam the stairs/corridors. (c) openigloo 3. Hot water will randomly (c) openigloo turn off some days with (c) openigloo no notice. The notice you (c) openigloo DO get is a piece (c) openigloo of paper posted on the (c) openigloo main door (that doesnt lock) (c) openigloo with a sharpie written note... (c) openigloo but it doesn't matter because (c) openigloo by then you have taken (c) openigloo a cold shower to head (c) openigloo out... 4. Rodents are a (c) openigloo huge problem 5. Mold and mushrooms... (c) openigloo in the bathroom and kitchen... 6. (c) openigloo Water damage that takes the (c) openigloo company 1 month to fix... (c) openigloo and you cant get a (c) openigloo hold of anyone. Even the (c) openigloo super will not tell you (c) openigloo the number for his boss. (c) openigloo Very shady. 7. Teenagers smoking (c) openigloo weed in the corridor because (c) openigloo they know from word of (c) openigloo mouth that the front door (c) openigloo does lock (clown face emoji) (c) openigloo 8. Flies in the summer (c) openigloo if you are on the (c) openigloo first two floors. 9. Asking (c) openigloo the super to do anything (c) openigloo means waiting for them to (c) openigloo come when they please aka (c) openigloo 2 months later it gets (c) openigloo done. Overall is is an (c) openigloo apartment that had potential but (c) openigloo the property owner doesn't care (c) openigloo and would rather have you (c) openigloo living in 2nd world conditions (c) openigloo to be very candid.
Advice to owner:
Stop being a slumlord and actually replace the front door to the building. Manage the mold properly... not just having the super come over and wipe away the mold/fungi/mushrooms for them to grow back two days later.

Cons:
You really had to nudge (c) openigloo management to get anything done. (c) openigloo Cockroaches were a big problem (c) openigloo starting in the spring.

Cons:
Terribly cockroach situation in the (c) openigloo summer. Hard to get property (c) openigloo management to come take care (c) openigloo of that and other little (c) openigloo things, but they usually fixed (c) openigloo the problem eventually.
No Communication or Action from Management

Cons:
No action or communication from (c) openigloo Solar realty mngmt. Really bad (c) openigloo service. Leakage from upstairs will (c) openigloo never be solved. There is (c) openigloo a loud neighbor that always (c) openigloo screams on the phone for (c) openigloo a long time in the (c) openigloo lobby and you can hear (c) openigloo everything as if its in (c) openigloo your living room. The fridge (c) openigloo stops working sporadically in colder (c) openigloo months. Of course they won’t (c) openigloo care about it. Unit is (c) openigloo awkwardly planned when it was (c) openigloo built and space is not (c) openigloo well used, feels claustrophobic. Desperately (c) openigloo needs renovation. No way to (c) openigloo put an AC in the (c) openigloo bedroom, the window wont allow (c) openigloo it. Bathroom is too tiny (c) openigloo for a human being!
Advice to owner:
Renovate the place. Fix leaking issue. Kitchen and bathroom need to switch places. Bedroom needs a second window. Change fridge.

Management company is named Solar (c) openigloo Management. Building gets insanely hot. (c) openigloo My apartment was right above (c) openigloo the boiler room, and they (c) openigloo never informed of that. The (c) openigloo apartment would get to close (c) openigloo to 90 degrees. It was (c) openigloo miserable. My radiator was acting (c) openigloo up, so they came to (c) openigloo fix it, and ended up (c) openigloo just breaking it altogether... which (c) openigloo led to a possibility of (c) openigloo a gas leak. I had (c) openigloo roaches for 6+ months. They (c) openigloo tried to bring pest control (c) openigloo out a few times, but (c) openigloo the issue was never resolved. (c) openigloo I had mice in the (c) openigloo apartment for close to 2 (c) openigloo months, and that was never (c) openigloo resolved either. The smell from (c) openigloo the mice led to me (c) openigloo having health complications. I informed (c) openigloo Solar of the urgency of (c) openigloo this, and they pushed me (c) openigloo to the wayside and basically (c) openigloo said "get over it". Thanks (c) openigloo to Mekkehan, Yinet, Manny, and (c) openigloo the realtor, Aaron Chesky, for (c) openigloo the terrible experience. Solar deserves (c) openigloo nobody's business, or more importantly, (c) openigloo their rent money. Choose any (c) openigloo other management company.
Advice to owner:
Maybe respond to your tenants when they reach out for issues? Be attentive and actually care about the tenants, especially when they are having health issues due to your lack of negligence. Solar is a sorry excuse for a company, and deserves nobody's business.
Really bad renovation and communication

Layout of apartment was nice, (c) openigloo location solid, and neighbors were (c) openigloo very considerate.
Cons:
Even at higher floors, street-side (c) openigloo apartments have *very* loud noise (c) openigloo from daily traffic. Management responsive (c) openigloo sometimes, but not consistently in (c) openigloo cases of emergency (ie, roof (c) openigloo literally leaking, hot water not (c) openigloo working repeatedly, oven not being (c) openigloo functional for months).
