One of the Best Buildings in Williamsburg

Pros:
An amazing landlord and super. Rare to find someone who cares that much these days.
Janine is a diamond.
Cons:
No cons besides the fact that the neighborhood is now dirtier and noisy 24/7.
Advice to owner:
Wish you owned more buildings

World's loveliest landlady- "meh" building

Pros:
- Original touches from last century: glass doorknobs, pressed tin ceilings
- I cannot speak highly enough of the landlady. Kind, compassionate, caring, communicative, responsive. A one in a million gem.
- The super lives in the building and is a character- super personable, kind and also very fast and responsive. He will fix anything in the apartment, no questions asked.
- The apartment is centrally located and 2 blocks from the subway. Very close to great restaurants, bars, Whole Foods, Apple store, etc. Very convenient location.
- Rent controlled
Cons:
- Floors + ceilings are incredibly tilted
- Water pressure is non existent
- There is never enough hot water to fill the tub for a bath- and I mean never
- As of December 2021, construction is taking place on both lots on either side of the building. The lot on the right side is so close to 151 Berry that 2 of my windows- the ones in the middle of the unit- are permanently condemned. This being a railroad, there is only natural light coming in from opposite ends. Such a shame as the abundant light was one of the better features of this apartment.
- Super loud neighborhood
- I've seen mice every year I have lived there
Advice to owner:
- Please try to fix water pressure and adjust the hot water so there is enough for baths!
