Worst experience of my life

Pros

Backyard was nice

Cons

DO NOT rent from this landlord or management. We moved into the apartment in June 2024. Right away, the stove didn’t work. Maintenance came 4 times with no success. We figured out the issue ourselves—it was the wrong electrical adapter—and we were without a working stove for 3 weeks. During that time, a leak developed over the shower and we smelled gas. We reported it immediately. The leak was fixed weeks later, but no cosmetic repairs were made. They repeatedly denied there was a gas leak—until we finally called National Grid ourselves. They confirmed a major gas leak. After a few heavy rains, we noticed water entering through both the front and back doors. A ceiling bubble appeared and eventually burst. We reported these issues more than 10 times over 7 months. Each “repair” was just a patch that failed again. The water damage worsened. When I asked about fixing the drainage, I was told they weren’t investing in repairs because they were trying to sell the building. Then it got worse. The first time I reported the water damage, they sent a man named Andrew. I was home alone. He acted disturbingly inappropriately—urinating with the door open, asking if I saw him, then grabbing my hand and placing it on his exposed, erect genitals while trying to kiss me. I immediately reported this and requested he not return. They ignored my request. He kept coming back, and I started leaving my home whenever I knew he was scheduled. Later, they told us an insurance inspection was happening. During this visit, they unlocked the cellar directly under our unit and accidentally left it open. I looked in and saw feet of standing sewage water with a thick film, indicating it had been there for a long time. I emailed management. When they didn’t respond, I reported it to 311. Shortly after, the property manager called me furious that I reported them. She told us to move out. I emailed her stating that her retaliation was illegal and asked to only communicate in writing from then on. A week passed. The issue still hadn’t been addressed. We called again—turns out Andrew had told them it was fixed. It wasn’t. We told them we were moving out, as they requested. Suddenly, they tried to rush repairs. I got a call from the landlord (the first time I ever heard from him). He told me Andrew was on the way. I told him Andrew had acted inappropriately. The landlord laughed and told me it was “a serious accusation” and that I should “take it back before it’s too late.” This behavior made more sense after we found an article about the landlord—he’d been accused of kidnapping, assault, and trying to burn his ex’s face on a stove. We left. When Andrew arrived, I had my partner come home and film everything. On video, Andrew asked us to lie to the landlord. We saved the footage. Three weeks after moving out, we had to threaten small claims court to get part of our security deposit back. The receipts they sent included charges for things like Mountain Dew, roof shingles, and photos of an apartment that wasn’t even ours. This experience was horrifying, unsafe, and traumatizing. Do not rent from this company or landlord.

Advice to the owners

Stop be greedy scum lords, and quit buying property you can’t maintain

Former tenant·Over 3 years ago

The owner does not care about his tenants

Pros

I liked that I had a backyard being on the ground floor the apartment is cute and decent size

Cons

I have had many many issues that needed to be fixed in my apartment the main one being a leak in my livingroom that a year later is still being “fixed” after a million patch jobs that never fixed the leaked as well as the rodent problem on this block is horrible. A plastic bag and been left on my ceiling for 3 weeks, the bag bust open and water has poured all over ruining my couch and rug.

Advice to the owners

Communicate with your tenants a lot more, show and give them the respect you want given to you and fix repairs when they are complained about
