Great building foundation
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great place to raise children and close to trains. Neighbors mind their business, like all real New Yorkers should.
Cons:
Mice in the basement.
Advice to owner:
Bring the rent down

leave it, better apartments across the street
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet neighborhood, good spaces, cheaper than Manhattan but expensive for the location. All payment is done through app.
Cons:
Common spaces never get cleaned, there is trash all over the staircase, people leave items in the hallways. The building is old so no sprinkler system is installed there are no fire extinguishers on the common areas, and people smoke in the building so I’d recommend getting renters insurance if you live here. Trash room is a mess with carts full of cans and discarded items left for months to collect dust. The super is pretty nice but will charge you for anything that you want fixed. No central AC. Building is a mix of permanent residents who have lived here for generations and new residents to NYC. They do pest control 1st Friday of the month, however if you aren’t there when the service is happening they won’t go in your apartment to put the poison. Emails with landlord will take at least a week and nothing gets done.
Advice to owner:
Get a cleaning service, not just the lady in apartment 15. Get fire extinguishers placed in common areas. Schedule the pest control in the summer months for the weekend when people are present to let them get in the apartment.
