Pros:
Clean, cared for, responsive owner
Cons:
Landlord let all the tenants go month to month while he figured out the gentrifying market rates for "hip" bushwick-and then raised the rents up $800-$1000 depending on the unit, within a year. Most of the tenants moved out within the following year. Tenants who had lived there for years with the exception of one unit, who often let their apartment through air bnb.
Also the top floor apartment has been broken into multiple times and several apartments HAVE had bedbugs. It was dealt with through the owner, not a pro company but was effectively dealt with.
Advice to owner:
Have a little more care next time, you had people scrambling for new homes just because you knew you could escalate the rent. It is isn't a nice feeling that you don't know how much your landlord is going to raise your living costs, and whether you will be able to afford to live somewhere.
