Poor Management Under New Ownership
Former Tenant
Pros:
Current neighbors are really great, enjoy the area, and like the original features in the unit.
Cons:
Building management is extremely poor and there is no building super. The building itself is disgustingly dirty and has never been maintained. Tenants are required to take out own trash to street, first floor apartment’s basement floods in severe storms, landlord has been unresponsive as of late, extremely run down, old kitchen and bathroom in unit, poor appliances.
Advice to owner:
Hire a super and management company to maintain building, stop cutting corners on dodgy repairs and raising rent with no building or unit improvements

Beware of First Floor Tenants! Paranoid Harassers!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice units, great neighborhood.
Cons:
This building quickly turns into a complete nightmare for all tenants. The first floor tenants are the landlord’s son and his wife. They are completely delusional and paranoid, and will do everything in their power to make your experience as a tenant here miserable. They have just under a dozen cameras in the hallways, lobby, and out front but not for tenant protection, just to spy on other tenants. They will harass other tenants in the building, leave threatening notes, pour maple syrup/chocolate syrup/apple juice/etc all over the floor in the lobby or on the stairs leading up to the units where the tenants live, slam on the floor at 5 am with a broom handle to wake you up, scream at odd hours, blast music. They have even called the police making false claims against other tenants in the building! The cops did not even knock on the door of the other tenants because they clearly knew the claims were false. Trust me, i’ve had plenty of crazy living situations in NYC but this is the most terrifying and bizarre. Beware!
Advice to owner:
Remove your son from the building immediately or do not have renters in this building, it is completely unfair to them. Could get you sued.
