Building is great, new landlords are not
Former Tenant
Pros:
- great location near Columbus circle - extremely minor pest issues over three years - laundry in basement - rear-facing apartments were quiet - digital doorbell so you can see who is buzz
Cons:
The new landlord (Oct. 2023) raised rents by a ridiculous amount, to the point where one can presume noncompliance under the Good Cause Eviction law. The landlord also failed to respond to questions about return of security deposits until we threatened to take them to small claims court three weeks after we moved out. They did not have copies of our keys, so we always had to be home to let them in to tour the apartment. They do not have an emergency phone number, everything has to be done through email. The old landlord took ACH payments, the new landlordThere was a carbon monoxide problem that caused the fire department to come out at midnight shut the heat off for the entire building.
