Worst experience of my life
Former Tenant
Pros:
Literally only the location.
Cons:
Roaches, dead mice in the wall reeked of literal death and made the apartment uninhabitable, our apartment leaked a river LITERALLY every time it rained and the landlord did NOTHING about it, and our hot water heater broke in the middle of winter and we had to take cold showers while there was SNOW ON THE GROUND for months while the landlord “got around to fixing it,” which he never, in fact, did. There is some problem with the building vent and we would hear enormous bangs on on the ceiling from time to time, like someone was trying to break in or the entire building was about to collapse, which we weren’t convinced it wouldn’t, at any given time. Again, the landlord and super did nothing. Every single package I ever attempted to have delivered got stolen. They keep the trash on the first floor of the building right next to the ground apartment, which is not only illegal, but attracts all kinds of fun creatures. The stairs are quite literally falling down. Water leaks down the entire building every time it rains and drips through cracks in the concrete at the entryway. A new violation from the city was delivered to this address every week. I lived in constant fear at this apartment, just waiting for the next thing to go wrong, which inevitably, it did. Do not live here under any circumstances. Please. Don’t do it.
Advice to owner:
Get out of the rental property business. Please. People deserve a base level of human decency.

The owners do not care
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is laundry in the building
Bi- weekly exterminator for free
They say no pets but no one enforces the rule.
Cons:
There’s only 3 washing machines and 3 dryers in the building laundry
Roaches in the kitchen cabinets
Mice in the building
Nothing is renovated not even faucets
The garbage disposal area is in a disgusting & dark back alley where mice and rats run through
No one cleans the lobby or the stairwell landings
There is no air conditioning
When it is winter, there are multiple nights that the heat is not on or the boiler isn’t working. Same goes for hot water. Cold showers in winter.
There are stairs on the outside of the building As well as the inside.
No elevator.
Buildings floors are dirty.
Steps don’t match, they are different colors.
Sometimes the intercom doesn’t work forcing you to miss packages.
The secretary at the management office is rude.
They sent rent bills every month but they do not clean a thing.
If you need something fixed or repaired be prepared to constantly nag the management or nothing will ever get fixed.
Mold in bathrooms in creaks and crevices.

Advice to owner:
Things do not last forever.
When a person moves out, renovate. It won’t kill you to replace a faucet or replace a few tiles.
Redo the flooring.
If you know the boiler has issues, replace it. People don’t need to get sick in the winter and create medical bills because you guys don’t provide heat or hot water.
Hire someone to clean the building weekly.
Listen to your tenants, when something is broken it needs to be repaired.
Mold is disgusting, do you want to live in mold? I think not, so why would you have your paying tenants live in mold.
It’s 2021, replace the brown cabinets from 1970.
Stop getting people to do cheap jobs. The stairs should not be different colors.
You wouldn’t live like this, so why should we.
