Pleasant New Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
In a fairly quiet if odd area. Big windows. Building cleaning service is excellent and pleasant. Nice gym and laundry facilities.
Cons:
Management takes a while to respond to repair tickets. Occasionally the neighbors like to throw a maddening rave.

Fine and good
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice Roof-deck
Easygoing building
Cons:
Majority of washer/dryers were out of service at all times
Walls were paper thin
Advice to owner:
little things

Decent building to live in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty quiet building aside from the occasional music from outside on the weekends. Maintenance responds pretty quick to requests and although they don’t come on the day/time you put on the request form they will text you and you can reschedule. There’s people who come by every Sunday to clean the hallways, laundry room, and gym.
Cons:
Dishwasher was moldy when I moved in and I had to replace the drip trays for the stove as they had rusted completely with giant holes in them. The laundry room machines operate on a card that you can only reload with cash and sometimes a few of the machines are out of service which can be inconvenient because the surrounding buildings also use the room.

Older building w/new paint and appliances masquerading as "newly renovated"
Former Tenant
Pros:
had a gym
Cons:
bugs; water pipe burst

Quiet residence but mgmt isn’t helpful
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet neighborhood, near several subway lines, laundry on site, no pet fee, cute courtyard, small on site gym, tall ceilings in apartments, dishwasher in apartments, real hardwood floors
Cons:
Packages get stolen A LOT, the door code is never changed, buzzer system doesn’t work, management ghosts you when you raise issues, sometimes the laundry machine just eats your money and doesn’t load it into the money card, there’s all kinds of nasty crap in the garbage area that looks gross, the gym is super tiny
Advice to owner:
Address the porch pirates for the love of god

Former Tenant
Pros:

Cons:
Slow responses from management

Affordable bushwick apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was pretty affordable. Had a gym.
Cons:
Super loud outside. You will need a heater during winter because of the poor insulation. The management company does not respond timely u less an emergency. The washer and dryer constantly break.

4th floor haven
Former Tenant
Pros:
Adjacent to a beautiful cemetery. Neighbors were naturally very quiet. Gym was fine. The building had shared spaces for meeting with guests and spending time outside.
Cons:
Laundry facilities were a frustrating situation. Sometimes several machines would be broken and it may take time for them to be fixed. Tenants compounded the situation by leaving items in the few working machines and not being attentive to moving their items.
Advice to owner:
Quick response to laundry repair issues.

it was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
good price for what u get - management minds their business
Cons:
management after their own interests. will take forever to reply, will fix things but not without urgency
Advice to owner:
have empathy

Hope you love rodents
Former Tenant
Pros:
There’s laundry, but 3/6 machines are always broken. There’s a small courtyard, but the doors have been broken for months, so anyone can enter the building.
Cons:
Rodents, rodents, and more rodents. The buildings are infested. They send someone from maintenance to address the issue, NOT an exterminator. And when they finally sent one, he’s had to come back 5 times within 6 months and they’re still all throughout the building.
Packages are stolen all of the time, people will even steal from the laundry room.

Quiet but a few major issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
The rent was inexpensive for a 2 bed/1 bath.
Quiet as my apartment overlooked a cemetery.
The block has a nice neighborhood feel.
L train is around the corner.
Small gym.
Cons:
*Disclaimer: I haven’t lived in this building for a few years, so the below may no longer be accurate. This is however an accurate depiction of my time there.

There was mold in some of the buildings within the complex (never saw any in my building or apartment).
The shared laundry was a nightmare - neighbors consistently left laundry for hours on end and washed pet beds or blankets leaving lots of pet fur. Not to mention you had to walk across the shared outdoor parking lot to access the gym and laundry room if it wasn’t in your building.
No dishwasher in my unit.
No elevator so moving in and out is a pain if you’re in a floor higher than the first floor.
Neighbors complained that their delivered packages were going missing.
Electric bill was WAY too high. Tenants believed the electricity for the shared areas of the building were included in the cost for individual tenants’ bills. While I lived there, this was never remedied.
Neighbors consistently allowed their dogs to relieve themselves all over the shared outdoor parking lot and outdoor common areas. Though the parking lot was always car free as tenants weren’t allowed to park there (no idea why), that doesn’t mean people want to constantly hop scotch over dog feces.

Rodents are everywhere
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gym is nice.
Cons:
Half of the laundry machines are always broken. Building is infested with mice. Property owners do do patch jobs only.

Small apartments good enough for price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gym, in unit A/C and heat
Cons:
Laundry machines have weird smell. Takes a while to get service tickets attended to. Management offered a 7% decrease for COVID in rent which amounted to $150 off. However this only lasted 6 months. When asked if they could extend they vehemently refused. They had open apartments that they were renting for 15% than what current tenants were paying.
