Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Gloria Young reveals significant management shortcomings. Common issues include poor cleanliness, inadequate garbage management, persistent pest infestations, and faulty heating systems. Responsiveness from management is often described as slow or non-existent, with maintenance problems left unresolved for extended periods. While some tenants appreciate the location and neighborly atmosphere, many warn about unsafe conditions like leaking ceilings and unreliable appliances. Despite occasional praise for certain amenities, the overall sentiment is that management neglect and poor upkeep detract greatly from tenant satisfaction. Prospective renters should anticipate a challenging living experience with slow or indifferent landlord engagement.

Poor management avoid at all costs

Pros

Location, price, and rooftop access.

Cons

Poor management. Lease agreement never sent timely, cockroaches, mice, trash being left in the lobby, bathroom ceiling fell in on itself.

From Beautiful to Horrific

Pros

When I first moved into this building in 1956, it was clean with brass mailboxes so shiny you could see your face in them and beautiful murals in the hallway on the first floor.

Cons

When the building was sold to Elizabeth Weiss, it became a slum dwelling with poor heating, dirty hallways and those polished mailboxes became rusty.

Advice to the owners

I moved out in 1969. Building was sold, renovated & now permanently closed. Wonder why?
