Reviews

Overpriced in a beautiful location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Most units completely remodeled with (c) openigloo nice fixtures and appliances. Beautiful (c) openigloo historic building in a great (c) openigloo location.
Cons:
Insufficient hot water. Maybe lasts (c) openigloo for 20 minutes in the (c) openigloo shower. Owners don't know how (c) openigloo to fix it. Electric bills (c) openigloo range from $300-$450 / month. (c) openigloo Front doors are not sound (c) openigloo proof at all. All sounds (c) openigloo in the hallway flow into (c) openigloo units and vice versa. Building (c) openigloo materials appear cheap, drywall is (c) openigloo very thin 1/8th inch (you (c) openigloo could probably push your finger (c) openigloo through it) and floor is (c) openigloo very soft wood that will (c) openigloo dent easily.
Advice to owner:
Rent is too high.
Great but beat up quickly, hot water runs out fast
Former Tenant
Pros:
2 bed layouts are great (c) openigloo with opposite end of apartment (c) openigloo bedrooms, everything is modern and (c) openigloo nice, no window in living (c) openigloo room sort of sucks but (c) openigloo if you want to live (c) openigloo in Greenpoint and can afford (c) openigloo this it’s not bad.
Cons:
The only big issue was (c) openigloo that the water pressure was (c) openigloo actually too high for the (c) openigloo size of the water heaters (c) openigloo (according to a plumber I (c) openigloo spoke to who happened to (c) openigloo be in the building when (c) openigloo I was going downstairs), so (c) openigloo you have to take showers (c) openigloo fast and race the hot (c) openigloo water running out. The plumber (c) openigloo did suggest just installing our (c) openigloo own lower flow rate showerheads (c) openigloo as a solution but our (c) openigloo lease was already ending at (c) openigloo that point so didn't bother. There (c) openigloo are also rats that get (c) openigloo into/crawl into the trash on (c) openigloo the days that the bags (c) openigloo get put on the street (c) openigloo to be picked up, the (c) openigloo receptacles you put the bags (c) openigloo into are really nice and (c) openigloo no issues with them, just (c) openigloo clap your hands loudly on (c) openigloo trash day as you approach (c) openigloo the entrance if you're worried (c) openigloo about it (that goes for (c) openigloo most of the street on (c) openigloo trash day tbh).
Bought by a company who pushed out old tenants with Bed Bugs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized at one point. (c) openigloo Amazing location. Beautiful and large (c) openigloo apartment with original landlord who (c) openigloo lived across the street.
Cons:
They were horrible to the (c) openigloo rent stabilized tenants. When they (c) openigloo first took over the building (c) openigloo no one came to manage (c) openigloo the trash and said they'd (c) openigloo send someone but didnt. Management (c) openigloo refused to deal with a (c) openigloo bed bug situation so that (c) openigloo we would leave and they (c) openigloo could destabilize the apartment. They (c) openigloo would do things like send (c) openigloo an exterminator but wouldn't answer (c) openigloo theyre call to be let (c) openigloo into the building. Luckily we (c) openigloo let him in. They never (c) openigloo followed up afterwards. Then told (c) openigloo us we didnt have them (c) openigloo despite our bites. Sent extermination (c) openigloo companies that were shady, who'd (c) openigloo sing off on us not (c) openigloo having them despite us having (c) openigloo caught them in our traps. (c) openigloo They just treated us so (c) openigloo miserably, gaslighting us constantly us (c) openigloo so that in the end (c) openigloo we were forced to leave.
Old building, new management sucks, lovely neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighborhood is awesome. Some of (c) openigloo the apartments finishings are nice.
Cons:
Apartment is small for the (c) openigloo money. New property management sucks. (c) openigloo We’re had a leak ongoing (c) openigloo for years and the old (c) openigloo management and new has dragged (c) openigloo feet on fixing it and (c) openigloo only patched it lightly not (c) openigloo identifying the source. There is (c) openigloo no effort from management to (c) openigloo be accommodating. New management didn’t (c) openigloo even respond about the leak (c) openigloo for 3 weeks. Only once (c) openigloo they started getting calls from (c) openigloo HPD at my request did (c) openigloo they start to address the (c) openigloo issue. Which again has still (c) openigloo not been fixed. When asked (c) openigloo about compensation or rent reduction (c) openigloo for this regular issue. They (c) openigloo referred us to the lease (c) openigloo that says we have to (c) openigloo deal with it ourselves. We (c) openigloo can’t fix the building ourselves (c) openigloo and have been living with (c) openigloo an HPD violation for years. (c) openigloo I wish these companies treated (c) openigloo their tenants like humans rather (c) openigloo than gaslighting and money grubbing.
Advice to owner:
Stop focusing solely on money and start providing good housing for your residents
Great but moving due to construction
Former Tenant
Pros:
The space was awesome - (c) openigloo this apartment building has huge (c) openigloo bedrooms! Apartments were updated and (c) openigloo had nice appliances along with (c) openigloo a laundry room.
Cons:
Unfortunately, our lease was not (c) openigloo renewed due to construction on (c) openigloo the building. It was unfortunate (c) openigloo because we loved living there.
Advice to owner:
Just wish we could have stayed longer!
Nice location, great light
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge apartment with great light
Cons:
Poorly insulated. Building was sold (c) openigloo and is being renovated
Would move in again
Former Tenant
Pros:
Incredible location, with a ton (c) openigloo of natural light. The views (c) openigloo from the roof are unbeatable.
Cons:
Being kicked out for renovations.
Advice to owner:
Keep the rent price as is... the prices are getting out of control.
Love it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very clean, beautiful views, great (c) openigloo landlord
Cons:
Packages can get stolen
5D 1 bedroom
Former Tenant
Pros:
In an ideal place in (c) openigloo park slope Just the right amount (c) openigloo of space for 1 person Great (c) openigloo south facing light Windows had views (c) openigloo of Brooklyn
Cons:
Water plumbing issues Mailroom was a (c) openigloo mess
Advice to owner:
Fix the plumbing
Unresponsive of the property management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing really stands out
Cons:
Property management rarely replied to (c) openigloo emails Front door of the (c) openigloo bldg never locked Never getting (c) openigloo mail from the mailbox
Advice to owner:
Fire ur property management
