Review Summary for Daniel Hochberg
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Daniel Hochberg reveal a mixed experience with management responsiveness and maintenance. While many appreciate spacious units, updated kitchens, and good locations, common issues include unreliable heating, pest problems, frequent package theft, and occasional cleanliness concerns in shared spaces. Laundry facilities are often limited or inconvenient, and noise levels vary depending on neighborhood and building. Some tenants praise quick maintenance responses, though others report slow or inadequate management communication. Overall, prospective renters should expect well-located and modern apartments but be prepared for possible management delays and challenges with heating and pests.

Not very clean
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location with proximity to Madison Sq Park and subway on 23rd.
Cons:
Dirty lobby with packages getting stolen. The water tank got restored and our water tasted strange for months. Lived there for two years and saw 1 mouse in the basement, which I guess is par for the course.

Great starter NYC apartment for those in their 20s!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is in a young and fun, but safe area, and surprisingly quiet. Great for those in their early 20s just moving to the city. Close to the 6 lines and M15/M101 buses. Super easy to get around.

Finishings are nice and apartments are spacious, although after meeting some of my neighbors I’ve learned that each unit can drastically vary in size (even though rent may be the same for both units).

We’ve seen minimal roaches and an exterminator came pretty quickly when we’ve reported it. No rodent issues. Maintenance is also very responsive to requests, although they may show up without warning.
Cons:
The laundry room is technically a walk around the corner so you have to go outside to get to it and it can get pretty busy since so many buildings are using it at once. Also not uncommon for 1/3 of the machines to be out of order at any given time.

The heat also broke for the majority of winter so it was impossible to escape the cold. You were pretty much forced to sleep in full sweats and invest in a space heater.

Also while maintenance is great, management will just ghost you if you ask about anything that they don’t want to deal with.
Advice to owner:
Respond to your tenants!! It’s not cool to only be responsive when it’s convenient for you. Also please fix the heat
