Review Summary for Royal Realty Corp
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for Royal Realty Corp-managed buildings reveal a mix of positive and challenging experiences. Many praise the cleanliness, modern design, and well-maintained amenities, alongside professional and helpful staff, particularly at Manhattan locations like 625 West 57 Street and 601 West 57 Street. However, complaints center on aggressive rent increases, limited shuttle hours, occasional noise from neighbors or nearby facilities, and some maintenance issues like aging AC units and elevator wait times. The Queens property at 29-59 Northern Blvd has mixed feedback with concerns about management responsiveness, heating inconsistencies, and noisy neighbors. Overall, expect well-kept buildings with responsive management but be prepared for rising rents and occasional service limitations.

Great building and community
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful river views. Well-staffed. Building is clean and well-managed. Apartments are large and pin drop quiet. Lots of amenities. Neighbors are friendly. Great closet space. Very clean.
Cons:
Bike storage is vertical and a bit of a pain if you’re small or lack strength. It’s a bit of a walk to catch a train at Columbus. Shuttle helps, but it’s only during rush hour during the week.
Advice to owner:
More shuttle bus hours like other properties in the neighborhood.

poor elavator and heating
Former Tenant
Pros:
clean, professional, new and good design
Cons:
the waittime for elavator is so long and it's always down

Nice building, but huge rent increases make it hard to live here long term
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean, beautiful, spacious apartments. Staff is mostly friendly. Management generally responsive. I enjoyed my time living there.
Cons:
The main issue I had is that they raised my rent significantly year after year to the point where I had no choice but to move out. I found out from others in the building that they had tons of occupancy, so I assume this was just a move to maximize profits. A bummer, because I would have liked to stay there for a long time. If you move here ensure you are either wealthy enough to weather the big rent increases or otherwise get ready to move out after a year or two.

Management doesn’t care about you once you move in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean. New. Good views.
Cons:
Incompetent management. They’ll blame staff, lie, and give excuses if it means they do not have to do anything or make a record of anything. They upgraded technology and have months of issues with it. They don’t provide you a physical metal key, which is illegal, and charge you $50 for additional “key” cards. Go somewhere else the price is already above market.
Advice to owner:
Fire senior management. Apologize to staff.

New Building with best amenities in Manhattan.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean
Great Concierge and plumbing services
Newly built
No pest issues
Transportation to the Columbus circle available on limited times
Cons:
Located right next to the Con Ed Power plant, so noisy 24/7
Expect a high rent increase of at least $200 - $2000/month upon lease renewals, depending on various lease terms offered by the management
Advice to owner:
Please try to be reasonable during lease renewals

Great Building To Live In
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location so near the city. The neighborhood is full of interesting restaurants and shops. Great mass transit. Very pet friendly. LIC is definitely a dog friendly neighborhood.
Cons:
Parking issues. Would be nice to have better street parking. The building doesn’t have parking but there are parking lots in the area. The rents here are way too expensive. I was lucky to find an affordable rent stabilized unit.
Advice to owner:
Work on the heating issue. My apt is too hot during the winter thermostat has a hard time regulating heat.

Advice to owner:
Stop charging for every little thing
