48 Hester Review
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location and elevator is a great perk
Cons:
Apartment has had an issue with cockroaches ever since move-in. The live in super can also be very hostile towards tenants. Neighbors can be loud, once had to deal with neighbors shouting and banging doors for hours in the hallway. Elevator is often broken so don’t count on it being available.

Questionable Landlord.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is in ok condition, but very old. Heat usually broke down, so went a couple weeks without heat in the winter.
Cons:
Landlord does not have his finances in order. Repeatedly tried to charge me more for rent, and when it came time to get my security deposit back, tried to give me half of what I was owed. Also, when COVID hit, no communication was given to lower rent or make payment arrangements.
Advice to owner:
Don't cheat renters on rent or security deposits.
