Solid building for young professionals

Pros:
Beautiful views in these units. Lovely garbage management, they had garbage receptacles on each floor. It was wonderful not to have to go out during winter.

Locked package box was a plus.

A/C splitters were nice. Everything was electric. Bedrooms were a bit small.

Generally responsive maintenance. Professionally managed building.
Cons:
Laundry is shared with a commercial tenant (spa) downstairs, leading to conflicts.

Nice but suspicious

Pros:
Great amenities in a gentrification building in bedstuy. Decent appliances, clean rooftop, easy living with elevator and garbage pickup. Everything is electric and modernized. Huge windows are great. Close to trains. Allows pets and have not had to make a noise complaint about any of them. Area is quiet usually minus the muffled train sounds.
Cons:
Elevator screeches out of nowhere and takes a few days to fix. No bug screens on windows or balcony doors. Prone to flies coming into the apartment from holes in walls connected to water/heat. Packages have been stolen before. Gym is available but not great and has no ventilation. Laundry in building can get pretty dirty and sometimes has bug infestations. Grocery stores kind of suck around the area. Landlord was pretty cruel when they increased the rent a ton.
Advice to owner:
Don't be such a jerk about rent increases just because you got rid of rent stability. Normal people don't suddenly make 20% more income every year just because you want 20% more lining in your wallet.

Newly renovated. responsive management. Dishwasher! clean and secure

even though the windows are insulated well there's no ignoring the j train roaring past

Huge private deck – there's only 2 in the building, on the 3rd & 6th floors
Large shared rooftop
New appliances
Trash/recycling on every floor
Laundry in basement
Close to grocery store & shipping center
Near Citibike rack
Good Chinese & pizza nearby
Cons:
Sometimes packages get stolen (by food delivery people mostly)
Long commute from the city
Floors, bathtub, and were stained by construction people before we moved in (1st tenants in this particular apartment)
Loud neighbors
Windows in our particular apartment don't open
Gym in the basement isn't great
Advice to owner:
Fix up the gym
