2-bedroom apartments in good cause buildings for rent near M2 Washington Heights - East Village in Kips Bay, Manhattan

Good cause refers to buildings with tenant protections that can limit certain rent increases or non-renewals. It is not a neighborhood label and it does not replace a careful review of the lease and building rules.

This page currently shows 1 apartments for rent, with a median rent of $6,823. That gives you a rough starting point for budget planning, but actual total monthly cost can be higher once fees and utilities are included.

Confirm that the building is actually covered by good cause protections, ask about the broker fee, security deposit, move-in charges, and check whether the lease has renewal or occupancy restrictions.

No. Good cause is a market housing protection category, not income-restricted or subsidized housing. It does not mean the apartment is part of NYCHA, HPD, Section 8, or a housing lottery program.

Openigloo applies the good cause filter based on the building’s tenant-protection category in the page data. You should still verify the current status with the agent or property manager because lease terms and building coverage can change.

The current trending neighborhoods are Hell's Kitchen, Stuyvesant Town/PCV, East Village, Kips Bay, and Yorkville.

Location, building age, amenities, and lease terms all affect affordability. A lower asking rent can still be less affordable overall if utilities, fees, or a broker fee push the total move-in cost up.
