Review Summary for 55 Wall Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 55 Wall Street highlight its charming, older architecture with spacious apartments and a clean, well-maintained interior. Tenants appreciate friendly neighbors, quiet noise levels in some units, strong water pressure, and responsive management, particularly praising doorman service and the building's aesthetic. However, noise can be an issue in certain apartments, with suggestions to enhance soundproofing. Occasional pest sightings and maintenance hiccups, like stove burner problems and minor unit repairs, were noted but generally addressed promptly. Overall, the building appeals to those seeking sizeable layouts and a welcoming community in a historic setting, despite some typical older-building quirks.

Good value, older building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Love the overall look / aesthetic of building
Friendly staff and residents are nice / relatively quiet
Gym is no-frills but never full or crowded
Spacious apartments, especially the bathrooms (walk in shower, tub, sink, vanity) as it used to be a hotel. I don't think you'd get that much space at this price in many other places in nyc but i'm not an expert
Cons:
It is an older building which is of course part of its charm but you can tell. They do a good job of keeping it clean but inevitably with any older building bugs can get in.. no roaches but occasional small flying bugs and spiders, I once saw a centipede but it disappeared. Also the unit gets dusty very rapidly.
