Apartment was completely infested
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. Good soundproofing against outside. Nice doormen.
Cons:
Completely infested. There were at least 100 roaches inside the walls. Management slow to respond. The 1st floor was infested too and had roaches crawling around

Old building, terrible management, nice staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
The units are fairly priced and large. There is security/ doorman, laundry & elevator. They exterminate the trash shoots often. Bugs aren’t much of a problem unless you have a disgusting neighbor.
Cons:
Walls and floors are thin, can hear everything from neighbors. The management company (Bethel Management) are unresponsive even in emergency situations. They don’t support the super or the staff on site. Pipes will burst in walls and they don’t come to look at it until days later (and don’t fix it). The heat was down for almost a week this month. They shut off the water often & the building is only running on one boiler.
Advice to owner:
Fix the boilers, invest money in the lobby and common areas. Respond to tenants in emergency situations.

Cockroach Heaven
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building lobby guards is nice
Cons:
Worst managed building I’ve ever lived in. It’s completely infested with cockroaches and mice. Owners/landlords are most Chinese. The couple landlords I’ve had cut corners, don’t fix heat, rodent infestation, appliances unless you call 311 on them and then try to kick you out. Don’t be surprised if they come into your apt unannounced and unattended. Rent is cheaper bc there is such high turnover because of the building issues. Walls are paper thin. Oh, is there’s a water issue in one apt then they have to turn off the water in the entire building, this happened weekly for hours to a full day at a time. Good luck trying to get back your security from the landlord or move in deposit from the building. Heating is always an issue. Management and board don’t want to replace boiler so be prepared to go several nights at a time without heat. I had to buy 2 plug in heaters.

Condo board all live in China so they don’t care what happens in the building. Building management is run by Chinese. If you aren’t, they are bias. They Bill you for everything.

Google their ratings for noise, rodents, management and bed bugs!!!
Advice to owner:
Get your act together. Real people with families live there.
