Terrible building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
good location. mix of different neighbors while i was living here, some were tenants that had probably been living in the building for years and others were younger and recently moved to new york.
Cons:
building was terribly managed and units are generally pretty small. front facade of building was falling apart when i was living here and everyone had to be evacuated. inspectors came in and found so many other violations that delayed our ability to come back into the building. very bad pest problems. trash room was terribly managed.
Advice to owner:
take better care of the building

Beautiful apartments but awful management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Absolutely love the interior design. Beautiful brick, and wooden walls with barn-style doors. Huge windows with lots of sunlight, and clever storage spaces built in. Most units have dishwasher and nice appliances.
Cons:
The management of this building is extremely high turn over - I’ve seen 3 companies in 3 years. Within the last year the place has become rat infested, frequently covered in trash, and falling apart. As of March 1 2023 the building has had a full vacate order due to the facade crumbling off the front of the building. During said vacate order, the built was left unsecured and was burglarized. Other issues include extremely slow-to-heat water (I typically have to give shower 10 min to warm up). FDNY declared the boiler “disgusting” and it frequently gets shut down for repairs. The mail room has frequent package thieves. The back door that leads to recycling area / alleyway has NEVER been able to shut in the several years I’ve lived here. Hence, rat infestation. The units are very small. 1 beds are maximum 300 sq ft and seem to be studios that they stuck flex walls in. Some of the 2 beds’ smaller rooms are the size of literally just a bed. It is uncomfortable having guests over as it immediately feels cramped.
Advice to owner:
REPAIR YOUR BUILDING, KEEP IT CLEAN, AND SECURE YOUR ENTRANCES.

BAD MANAGEMENT Mott St
Former Tenant
Pros:
natural sunlight I guess
Cons:
EVERYTHING ELSE. Where do I begin? Rat infestation. Cockroach infestation. Front and back doors would occasionally lock. Homeless constantly breaking in. Feces in Mailroom. Stolen packages. Did I mention the front facade of the building is currently collapsing. Management does not care one bit.
Advice to owner:
Maybe be a little less negligent?

For The Love of God, Not This One
Former Tenant
Pros:
The area is undoubtedly historic and neighbors are more than kind.
Cons:
The big overview: this place presents itself as a cute, recently renovated apartment but is in fact downright dangerous - left to fall apart in the hopes that some rich person will sweep them off their feet and buy it! Rats have chewed through walls and forced an opening through the backdoor, packages have been stolen, non-apt dwellers have shat in the common area, the building has 20-years worth of boiler violations and the best they'll do is just turn it back on if FDNY turns it off and pay a fine, the fire escape isn't up to code with rusted and missing steps, heat and hot water unreliable in the winter, weird smells EVERYWHERE... And if you're thinking "I can fix her!" you're *wrong*; management is equally bad and you'll have to rely on a paper trail or else they will gaslight you and delete records. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Insane building conditions…
Former Tenant
Pros:
I have a dishwasher, natural light and a large fridge.
Cons:
-Rats controlling the trash room and complex / chasing you up the stairs - Management blocking numbers when concerns are happening -Had no Heat for 3 days in the coldest part of January -Homeless coming into the building and defecating on the walls and mailboxes - Mice in the apartment -Strangers from the street coming into the building and stealing packages / especially ones that they know what brand they are by the packing. -Mailboxes being ripped open and rummaged through -Key wasn’t working downstairs and couldn’t access building for couple hours -Façade of building falling off. -Building had to be vacated -Didn't put tenants into hotel even tho its due to poor matinence.
Advice to owner:
Get a new career and change management all together.

Avoid like the plague
Former Tenant
Pros:
There was a nice sense of community while living in this building.
Cons:
The owners don’t give two sh*ts about their Tenants. Had many unpleasant dealings with Tuli.
Advice to owner:
Listen! Communication is key. Don’t bloody lie to your tenants!!!
