Review Summary for 249 Broome Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 249 Broome Street emphasize well-maintained, clean apartments in a desirable Manhattan location with quiet environment and friendly neighbors. However, tenants consistently report poor management responsiveness, with slow or ineffective handling of maintenance issues, package theft, and garbage disposal problems. Heating and water pressure have been noted as weak, and management's communication style has frustrated residents. Despite these drawbacks, many still recommend living here due to apartment quality and community atmosphere. Improved management accountability, timely repairs, and better customer service would significantly enhance resident satisfaction.

Great Apartment, Mediocre Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
I have lived in this building for almost 2 years. I have loved my apartment itself - it is nicely updated, well-kept, and in a great area.
Cons:
Management is pretty terrible. Issues with package stealing were blamed on tenants, and I received a snarky email from management when I inquired about it. The lobby hallway will have an awful odor and wet floors about 1 time per week (and I'm still not sure what the smell or wetness is from).

To make matters worse, our medicine cabinet fell off our wall, hit my roommate on the head and gave her a concussion, and broke several hundred dollars worth of beauty products. Management was unhelpful, finally sending someone to fix the cabinet 2 months later. They entered our apartment with no warning. This is despite the fact we had explicitly told management that no one was allowed inside the apartment to fix the medicine cabinet without one of us being there. The person who came in installed another (!) broken medicine cabinet, scared our dog, and used the toilet without flushing and putting the seat back down. When we spoke to management about this, they were unapologetic, and it took us several more weeks to get a third medicine cabinet.
Advice to owner:
Start actually attempting to serve your tenants
