Nice Building and Unit, Just Major Pest Problem
Pros
We loved this apartment, it was a great price for the size, there were windows in every room (including the bathroom and kitchen.) The neighborhood is definitely worth the money, its literally in the most perfect spot in the east village.
Cons
At least our management did not accept e-payments, only physical checks that had to be dropped off at their office on the next block or mailed to them. We were also only given physical keys to open up the front two doors, even though everyone else in our building had key jobs that unlocked the doors for them. And finally, there was an enormous mouse problem during the last eight months of our two year lease. Once construction in the building started on the floor below us, we had an entire family of mice move into our apartment and nest in our couch. We had an exterminator come FIVE times to the unit and the problem next went fully away. We had them fill every possible hole we could find, and they were still getting the place. Also, when the problem originally started, the management almost didn't send an exterminater because they "offer" exterminator visits on the first saturday of every month and we had missed that by a week. However, I want to note that twice over those eight months, we had signed up for just a monthly exterminator visit and no one showed up. So we contacted managment and made them bring someone in because the problem was getting so bad.
An okay first-out-of-college apartment
Pros
Rent is reasonable for the area
Cons
Paying rent in person every month. Unresponsive maintenance. Ineffective pest control
