Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 338 EAST 14 STREET in Manhattan highlight issues with management responsiveness, cleanliness, and heat control. The building's location near the East Village is appreciated, but some tenantsface noise disturbances and pest control problems. While positives include nice neighbors and good water pressure, concerns such as unresponsive landlords, cold top floors, and security deposit disputes deter recommendations for living here. -fire department next door is loud -insulation is bad and heat doesn’t work well, so space heaters are mandatory -air vents are dirty making apartment get dusty quickly
Advice to owner:
Clean air vents and turn on heat in winter

Okay building, shady management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great, the building is clean(ish), and the apartment was fairly large given the price. The other tenants were nice and the building was overall pretty quiet. The super is very nice.
Cons:
The landlord was generally unresponsive when things went wrong (leaking ceiling, etc.). The top floor is very cold in the winter (low 60s). Most importantly, be warned that the landlord will almost certainly find a reason to withhold your security deposit! (And will probably string you along for a few months by saying it's in the mail). Although I didn't have a terrible experience, I would overall not recommend moving here because of the issues with management. Unless you are a lawyer and enjoy taking landlords to court, in which case, good luck and please know that I am rooting for you!
Advice to owner:
Fix the heat on the top floor, hire actual professionals to make repairs, and return people's security deposits
