Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
215 Madison Avenue is a pre-war building appreciated for its spacious units, classic charm, and convenient central location near transit. Tenants highlight large layouts, good lighting in certain units, and useful in-building laundry facilities, though some report laundry maintenance issues and pest sightings. The building maintains good cleanliness, garbage management, and heating, with responsive superintendents often praised. However, water pressure and hot water reliability are common concerns, alongside occasional noise from nearby traffic. Management responsiveness varies, with some frustration over rent increases and communication. Overall, renters enjoy the building’s size and character but suggest improvements in maintenance and management relations.

Good place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge spaces with great lighting on all rooms of the B column! Good noise reduction between room, which made it nice to work from home. Very responsive super, access to laundry in the building, elevator. The area is pretty centric and residential, close enough to subways.
Cons:
The laundry is in the basement which can get a little messy and dirty, a lot of the machines didn't work properly, can only pay with cash by depositing into a building-provided card. The basement had a lot of roaches and we sometimes got roaches in the apartment as well. It can be very noisy from all the traffic on Madison and 36th.
Advice to owner:
Replace or fix some of the laundry machines
