Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 134 East 22 Street emphasize its excellent location, attentive staff, and clean well-managed common areas. Renovated apartments are praised for unique layouts and cozy feel, with many featuring balconies. Residents appreciate friendly doormen and quiet backyard-facing units. However, significant noise issues from thin walls and street exposure, old windows causing drafts, and lack of sound insulation are common concerns. Heating and cooling can be inefficient and costly due to electric systems and poor insulation. Pest problems occasionally arise but receive prompt attention. Limited elevator service and no service elevator, alongside small kitchen sizes, are noted drawbacks. Rent is high, reflecting Manhattan's market.

Expensive but well managed
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super is on top of everything. Responds quickly and always working. Always helpful. Having the doorman 10-8pm is nice. Apartments that are renovated are great. Facing the backside, it’s very quiet in terms of outside noise. The heat and AC work well.
Cons:
Doormen often let people up without alerting you. Most couches won’t fit in these apartments. No phone service in this building. There are mice in the building, but the super takes care of it well. No service elevator.
Advice to owner:
Build a service elevator!

Mostly well kept building, absurdly expensive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building was mostly clean and whenever I had pest complaints they were promptly handled. Additionally was able to keep a cat with no fee (dogs required medical documentation)
Cons:
Price— absurdly expensive
