Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews of 131 East 23 Street highlight its prime Manhattan location with easy subway access and proximity to neighborhood amenities. Many appreciate the attentive, personable live-in super and helpful staff, including part-time doormen, contributing to a secure and clean environment. The convenience of laundry facilities on every floor and updated appliances are frequently mentioned positives. However, some residents note issues with inconsistent heating and occasional pest problems, mainly rodents and roaches, which management is slow to address. Noise from the busy street and thin walls is common but expected given the location. Overall, many recommend this building for its community feel and convenience despite some maintenance challenges.

Great first nyc apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Has all of the things you might want for a first NYC apartment. Part time doorman, laundry on every floor, dishwasher and updated appliances. The building is well maintained and I did not have any issues with pests.
Cons:
There is a lot of street noise which is to be expected right by 23rd street. The units are on the smaller side and can be drafty in the winter.
Advice to owner:
Give more notice when shutting off the water
