Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 150 East 39 Street praise its prime Manhattan location, safety, and exceptional building staff, particularly the doormen and maintenance teams who are described as friendly, responsive, and helpful. The building is generally clean with well-managed garbage and effective pest control. Tenants appreciate amenities like laundry facilities and elevators. However, many note that apartments tend to be small and dated, with kitchens and bathrooms needing updates. Noise levels vary due to thin walls, and the gym facilities are often criticized for poor maintenance. Management responsiveness is mostly positive, though some renters express concerns over rent hikes and building upkeep.

Great building and location
Former Tenant
Pros:
I’ve lived here for many years and have always felt taken care of and safe. I’ve never had a package issue and the doormen are the best
Cons:
very thin walls, one of the staff members is a little skeevy. Building management will NEVER negotiate on rent renewal despite the fact multiple units were open for many months and they ultimately had to hire brokers to fill

Quiet Murray Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
In a quiet area in midtown. Close to grand central. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons:
Building used to be an old hotel so some appliances and fixtures are dated.
