Review Summary for 229 East 21 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 229 East 21 Street highlight the building’s cleanliness and effective garbage management, largely credited to a dedicated super who maintains common areas well. The location is praised for convenience and reasonable quiet despite nearby busy surroundings. Apartments are noted as spacious and recently updated with good heating and pest control. However, some issues persist with inconsistent water pressure, occasional noise from neighbors, and slow responsiveness from new management regarding repairs. Tenants suggest improvements in rodent control and package handling. Overall, renters recommend the building for its upkeep, attentive maintenance, and strong community feel.

Great location, reasonably maintained.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great and reasonably quiet despite being across from the police station. Super is constantly cleaning and maintaining the building. The lobby was recently redone, so it has nice appeal. Apartment was spacious and updated.
Cons:
The water pressure was intermittently terrible in the bathroom, but atrocious in the kitchen. It was also challenging to get appliances fixed or maintained (A/C, W/D). Packages were thrown haphazardly under the stairs. Also, rats were a constant outside.
Advice to owner:
Be more on top of rodent control and responsiveness to appliance repairs. Put in a better system for package storage.
