Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenants of 414 West 42 Street appreciate its prime Manhattan location, fair rent prices, and clean common areas. The building is noted for being generally quiet inside despite its bustling, tourist-heavy neighborhood. Management is responsive, and pest issues are minimal. However, residents commonly mention challenges with inconsistent heating, slanted floors, and street noise penetrating units. Occasional odors from the nearby restaurant and an aging intercom system are also drawbacks. Overall, the building offers good value for the area, especially for renters prioritizing location and affordability, though improvements in soundproofing and heating systems could enhance living comfort.
