Not bad, Not Great
Pros
Great location/neighborhood, excellent neighbors, price is pretty good relative to the area, heating is solid, apartments have character. Great proximity to subway lines.
Cons
Communication is tough for repairs/pests, apartments are old and a bit dated, fixes are often only half done, rent was raised 25% (!!) despite assurances when signing the lease that any increase would be reasonable
Amazing Landlord and Location!!
Pros
This has probably been my favorite apartment to date. It’s a beautiful building on a super quiet block and it’s really safe (I’m a small woman and feel comfortable running at night). The building is steps from Central Park (8 min walk to Sheep’s Meadow) and sandwiched between two subway lines (B, C, 1, 2, 3). The best part about this place is the landlord - he’s like a dad watching over me and is always accessible if I need anything. The agent the landlord uses to rent apartments is just as sweet and honest too!
Cons
The only downside to this place is that I’ve had a lot of problems with mice and roaches though the landlord ALWAYS immediately gets an exterminator to come in (it’s NYC so I should’ve expected some pests...). Also, not a big deal, but it is the UWS, so there’s plenty of snooty rich people in the area. All in all, I love this place and highly recommend!
Advice to the owners
More pest management? Love this place though!
