Beautiful building Bad landlord whi lives in basement.

Pros:
Beautiful brownstone. Working fireplaces. Proximity to Central Park and subways.
Cons:
The landlord is not responsive. He is a lawyer and sends a lawyers letter at the slightest perceived impingement by tenants. (One on Christmas Eve) He withheld a chunk of the security deposit for illegitimate reasons. The building manager he works with is rarely available to fix anything. Note the high turnover since this landlord took over the building.
Advice to owner:
The owner is responsible for the building and cannot blame tenants when the building has a problem. The problem belongs to the owner. Be less suspicious of people and kinder! Get a building manager that lives close by, not in Brooklyn. Take responsibility!
