Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 235 East 40 Street in Manhattan reveal a generally clean, well-maintained building with friendly doormen and staff, offering desirable amenities like a pool and gym. Apartments feature large windows and balconies, with good water pressure and heating. Residents commend the community atmosphere and building management's responsiveness, though some note occasional delays in repairs. Noise levels are mostly quiet, except for specific units near noisy neighbors or firefighters' stations. Negative feedback centers on difficult landlord interactions, unexpected rent hikes, and a stringent lease contract. While many recommend the building, prospective renters should carefully review lease terms and consider proximity to public transportation.
