Nice renovated units

Pros:
Renovated, new appliances like oven and dishwasher, washer dryer in unit HUGE plus. We faced the back courtyard so it was dead quiet, but if you face the street it’s not. Real wood floors. Handyman was great.
Cons:
Super didn’t respond ever, thought the property manager did and she was nice. Garbage always piled up above the stairs. Heat didn’t work for a month in the dead of winter.
Advice to owner:
Make sure the heat works

Pros:
Carpeted stairs which were vacuumed periodically. Updated appliances and exposed brick. No issues with heating or water. Proximity to many parks and great restaurants.
Cons:
Mice, mice, and more mice. Not sure if it was due to being above a restaurant or the overflowing trash on the first floor or both? LOTS of street noise on 2nd Ave. Walls are paper thin (easily hear someone sneezing next door). Stolen packages more than once. My apartment was cracker box sized (200 ft2 usable space) but I guess I knew that going in. Landlord seemed sort of shady. Both super and landlord were not very accessible/responsive.
Advice to owner:
Pest control should be your #1 priority
