Bad experience alert!
Pros
The neighbourhood is nice
Cons
My husband and I lived in this building for a year and a half. We had a terrible experience here. The clauses on the lease (such as what cleaning sprays you are and aren’t allowed to use, once a month at 7am the landlady and exterminator will enter your apartment and this can NOT be negotiated no matter what, if you are not home they will come in themselves, there’s approximately 75 rules on the lease) should have given us a fair warning but we liked the area a lot and went ahead and signed. We had no idea what we were signing ourselves into. The landlady lives alone on the ground floor of the building. She stands outside everyday and goes through the trash cans (yes, it’s quiet unbelievable) and checks who is throwing what outside. If anything with your name is found in the wrong recycling bin, she will give you a few calls and ask to schedule a ‘meeting’ to discuss recycling rules again. She wrote ‘rules’ on my mail multiple times. Actually wrote ON my mail. Apart from that, the apartment was full of roaches (despite her and the exterminator entering once a month) and every time we reached out about it, she told us it’s because of the ‘indian food’ we make. Lastly, once my husband and I were away for holiday, and she entered our apartment, washed the dishes in the sink (yes, once again unbelievable) moved my things around and left a note telling us our apartment is filthy. It really wasn’t. Regardless, living here felt like hell, I would not recommend it to anyone. Another thing to note, there’s no super, if you need anything you’ll have to call her, there’s a super’s number written outside but she doesn’t allow anyone to call it. I have hundreds of stories from the time we lived there, please beware, no one should have to go through what we did.
