Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
The building at 340 E 90 St offers a prime Manhattan location with well-kept common areas, pest control, and attentive doorman and super staff that many tenants appreciate. Apartments tend to be spacious with hardwood floors and convenient access to neighborhood amenities. However, heating is often problematic due to outdated systems, and noise from neighbors and street traffic can be an issue, sometimes requiring earplugs. Management's responsiveness is mixed, with several renters reporting poor communication and maintenance delays. Overall, the building is clean and secure, but prospective renters should weigh the noise and heating concerns alongside management challenges.

Pretty Solid, But Thin Walls
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheap, great location, great building management
Cons:
Window units are so/so, and heat is really hard to control. Either way too hot or way too cold.

Decent apartment, but pray for no maintenance issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fair price, no crazy rent increases, large apartments, night doorman is very kind and caring
Cons:
freezing in the winter due to ancient radiators they refuse to replace, major plumbing problems constantly happen, smoke alarm batteries in the hallway not replaced (beeping all night,) very difficult to get things fixed due to the super and management. My boyfriend had a much better time getting the super to listen to him, but I would not rent here if you are a woman.
Advice to owner:
Treat women with the same respect you do men. Do not talk over us or assume we are making issues up.
